REQUEST FOR MORE INFORMATION: STORMWATER MANAGEMENT PLAN
Dear Mr. Ball:
On March 6, 2008, the Division of Water Quality (DWQ) issued a 401 Water Quality Certification to
fill 0.46 acre of wetland in order to construct the subject development in Mecklenburg County. In
order to meet Condition 5 of the 401 Certification for this project, a stormwater management plan,
dated March 7, 2008, was received by the DWQ on March 11, 2008. On April 24, 2008, the DWQ
sent a request for more information on the stormwater management plan requesting documentation of
the local government's stormwater management plan approval. The DWQ 401 Unit has since been
informed that the City of Charlotte does not have an approved Phase II program and that therefore
the DWQ is responsible for reviewing and approving the stormwater management plan for this
project.
The DWQ has determined that your stormwater management plan was incomplete as discussed
below.
Additional Information Requested:
1. Please provide a BMP Supplement Form for each proposed best management practice that
will be used on the site (including both worksheets, Design Summary and Required Items
Checklist), as well as any of the required items that were not included in the March 6, 2008
submittal. The BMP Supplement Forms are available on the DWQ web site at:
http://h2o.enr.state.nc.us/su/bmp forms.htm.
2. Please insure that side slopes around the perimeter of the proposed stormwater wetlands are
at a 3:1 maximum slope.
