On March 19, 2008, the Division of Water Quality (DWQ) received your application signed on
February 22, 2008 to permanently fill approximately 0.988 acres of isolated wetland for two
commercial buildings. The DWQ has determined that your application was incomplete and/or
provided inaccurate information as discussed below. The DWQ will require additional
information in order to process your application to impact protected wetlands and/or streams on
the subject property. Therefore, unless we receive the additional information requested below,
we will have to move toward denial of your application as required by 15A NCAC 2H .0506 and
will place this project on hold as incomplete until we receive this additional information. Please
provide the following information so that we may continue to review your project.
Additional Information Requested for:
1) Information needs to be provided that shows that avoidance and minimization of impacts
for this project was considered and that there are no practical alternatives. An economic
analysis should be included if a reduction in size of the project is not practicable.
2) The site plan for the proposed project shows that the back portion of the property is
"reserved for a pond." Please show the correctly sized pond dimensions that will be
required for stormwater and all the required features.
3) The proposed commercial buildings do not show the number of stores proposed, this will
be necessary in order to determine if some of the parking spaces can be eliminated in
order to reduce the project footprint. Please include the number of parking spaces
required by Pender County.
