Enclosed please find the analytical sampling results for stormwater discharge outfalls
(SDO) 1 and 2 at TE Connectivity. The enclosed is for coverage Year 1 of Period II. Each
outfall were sampled in accordance with NPDES Stormwater Permit NCG0300000,
Certificate of Coverage (COC)NC030547..
The reporting limit for zinc remains above the reporting limits. Copper is also above the
reporting limits. This is the first occurrence for copper. A full sampling analysis was
completed January 2, 2014, and we are awaiting the results.
TE Connectivity believes that the zinc (Zn) contamination is a result of the galvanized
HVAC equipment located on building's roof. A stormwater sample was taken from the
roofs down spout and tested. The results revealed that zinc concentrations were 3X
higher directly off of the roof than those obtained from SDO outfall.
Effective immediately, our facility will implement Tier II requirements of General Permit
No.NCG030000. The results of research findings and stormwater sampling are being
recorded in the facility's stormwater pollution prevention plan(SPPP).
