Jason,
Thank you for the notification. Due to the tiny amount of area, no tree -clearing, and temporary nature, then I see no
need for a 401 mod or Buffer Authorization mod here. (Provided the COE has no objection.)
Just include these changes in your as -builds and be sure the revegetation happens as you describe.
Thank you,

Subject: TIP# U-5318 - Main Street Ext - Holly Springs, NC
Good afternoon Eric and Rob,
Our client, the Town of Holly Springs, is currently constructing the TIP# U-5318 Main Street Extension Project in Holly
Springs. The contractor has let us know that they need a minor amount of additional temporary disturbance outside of
the original disturbance footprint in the vicinity of this impact location to facilitate construction of the culvert and wing
walls. No additional tree clearing will be necessary to conduct this work, so while the additional disturbance is located
within the riparian buffer, no impacts to the riparian buffer will result from this additional activity. Additionally, as
shown on the attached plan sheet, one of the additional disturbance areas is located within the wetland footprint (276
square feet), but as previously described, this disturbance is temporary in nature only and no impact to the wetland will
occur.
The total additional temporary disturbance footprint is 898 square feet (0.021 acre), divided between the four
quadrants of the crossing (see attached plan sheet). All temporary disturbance areas shown on the attached plan sheet
will be restored to pre -construction contours and revegetated with native riparian buffer species following completion
of the culvert and wing wall construction.
Due to the nature of the additional disturbance described above and the small size of the additional disturbance
footprint, I do not anticipate that any further coordination is needed with the USACE or NCDWR regarding these areas.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or if you need any other documentation for your files.
Sincerely,
Jason Hartshorn
