REQUEST FOR MORE INFORMATION
Dear Mr. White:
On January 4, 2008, the Division of Water Quality (DWQ) received your application dated October 26,
2007, to impact 4.44 acres ofnon-vegetated wetlands (open water) and 0.05 acres of vegetated wetlands
to perform maintenance and new excavation, to construct a bulkhead, docking facility, dry-storage
facility, parking areas, and an entrance road. The DWQ has determined that your application was
incomplete and/or provided inaccurate information as discussed below. The DWQ will require
additional information in order to process your application to impact protected wetlands and/or waters
on the subject property. Therefore unless we receive five copies of the additional information requested
below at the DWQ central office, we will have to recommend moving towards denial of your application
as required by 15A NCAC 2H .0506 and will place this project on hold as incomplete until we receive
this additional information. Please provide the following information so that we may continue to review
your prof ect.
Additional Information Requested:
DWQ requires sampling to adequately resolve the problem of the potentially contaminated soil at
the project site. Describe the precautions that will be taken to protect surface waters before and
during the project.
2. The application states that these activities will take place within a Primary Nursery Area. What
precautions will be taken to prevent negative impacts from turbidity?
Please respond within three weeks of the date of this letter by sending this information to me in writing

we do not hear from you within three weeks, we will assume that you no longer want to pursue this
project and we will consider the project as withdrawn.
This letter only addresses the application review and does not authorize any impacts to wetlands, waters
or protected buffers. Please be aware that any impacts requested within your application are not
