The Construction Contractor responsible for the modification
to the water or sewer, as approved in these plans, is
responsible for contacting the Public Utilities Department at
919- 857 -4540 at least fo —glyht (48) hours prior to
beginning any of their construction.
Failure to notify the City of Raleigh s Public Utilities
Departments in advance of beginning construction. will
result in the issuance of monetary fines, and require
reinstallation of any water and sewer facilities not inspected
as a result of this notification failure.
Failure to call for Inspection, Install a Downstream Plug,
have Permitted Plans on the Job site, or any other
Violation of City of Raleigh Standards will result in a �jng
and Possible Exclusion from future work in the City of
Raleigh.

8. ADJUSTMENT OF CITY—OWNED
UTILITY STRUCTURES AND MANHOLE TOPS SHALL BE PROVIDED BY THE
CONTRACTOR.
9. DURING ALL PHASES
OF CONSTRUCTION, CARE SHALL BE TAKEN TO MINIMIZE DAMAGE TO EXISTING
IMPROVEMENTS ON OR
ADJACENT TO THE SITE. ANY ITEMS DAMAGED SHALL BE REPAIRED OR REPLACED TO THE
SATISFACTION OF THE
OWNER AT THE CONTRACTOR'S EXPENSE.
10. TEMPORARY RESIDE
TIAL FENCING WILL BE REQUIRED WITHIN BACKYARDS OF LOTS, AS DIRECTED BY THE CITY
OR THE CITY REPRESE
TATIVE.
11. WORKING HOURS S
ALL BE LIMITED FROM 8:00 AM TO 6:00 PM MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY.
12. A BYPASS PLAN SE'ALED
BY A NC PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER MUST BE SUBMITTED TO PUBLIC UTILITIES PRIOR
TO PUMPING OPERATIONS
TO COORDINATE WITH ADMINISTRATION ENGINEERING STAFF. PUMPS SHOULD BE SIZED TO
HANDLE THE PEAK DAILY
FLOW (2.5 TIMES THE AVERAGE DAILY FLOW) FOR THE LINE OR AREA OF WORK. THE
CONTRACTOR SHALL SECURE
PUMPS FROM A PUMP SUPPLIER ACCORDING TO THE PROVIDED FLOW INFORMATION.
PUMPING OPERATIONS
LIST BE MONITORED 24 HOURS A DAY FOR EACH DAY OF THE PUMPING OPERATION BY
QUALIFIED PERSONNEL
N ORDER TO RESPOND TO PROBLEMS OR FAILURES. 1007 REDUNDANCY IS REQUIRED FOR
PUMPING OPERATIONS.
IN ADDITION, BACK UP PUMPS ARE TO BE CONNECTED TO THE BYPASS FORCE MAIN TO
FACILITATE IMMEDIATE
USE UPON FAILURE OF THE PRIMARY PUMPS. PUMPS AND GENERATORS USED FOR BYPASS
OPERATIONS SHALL BE
QUIET EQUIPMENT ENCLOSED IN SOUND DEADENING DEVICES AND SHALL BE IN
ACCORDANCE WITH CITY OF RALEIGH CITY CODE SECTION 12, CHAPTER 5: NOISE. AVERAGE DAILY FLOW =695
GALLONS /MINUTE. PEAK DAILY FLOW =1.737 GALLONS /MINUTE.
CONSTRUCTION SEQUENCE
1. FURNISH AND INSTALL TRAFFIC CONTROL ADVANCE WARNING SIGNS NEAR CONSTRUCTION
ACCESS POINTS, AS DIRECTED BY THE CITY. AND MAINTAIN THEM THROUGHOUT THE
PROJECT'S DURATION.
2. INSTALL FABRIC, STONE, AND GRAVEL CONSTRUCTION EXIT WITHIN CONSTRUCTION ACCESS
AND STAGING AREAS AS INDICATED ON THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS OR AS DIRECTED
BY THE CITY.
3. REMOVE EXISTING TREES IDENTIFIED ON THE PLANS, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
SPECIFICATIONS. PROVIDE TREE PROTECTION FOR THOSE TREES TO BE SAVED WITHIN THE
CONSTRUCTION AREA.
4. INSTALL ONE ROCK CROSS VANE DOWNSTREAM OF IMMEDIATE AREA OF DISTURBANCE TO
ACT AS SILT BASIN. MAINTAIN IN ACCORDANCE WITH SPECIFICATIONS.
5. CONTRACTOR SHALL BEGIN STREAM STABILIZATION ACTIVITY AT THE UPSTREAM LIMIT OF
CONSTRUCTION. THE WORK SHALL BE LIMITED TO NO MORE THAN 250 LF OF CHANNEL,
WITHOUT COMPLETE RESTORATION AND /OR STABILIZATION, AND CONTINUE DOWNSTREAM
WITHOUT INTERRUPTION IN CHANNEL RESTORATION.
6. THE CONTRACTOR MAY BEGIN PREPARATION OF THE NEXT DOWNSTREAM REACH (250
L.F.) PRIOR TO FULL STABILIZATION OF THE UPSTREAM REACH, HOWEVER, INSTALLATION OF
PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS IN THE DOWNSTREAM REACH WILL NOT BE PERMITTED UNTIL THE
UPSTREAM REACH IS APPROVED BY THE PROJECT INSPECTOR.
7. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PROPER REMOVAL AND DISPOSAL OF
ANY UNSUITABLE MATERIAL TO A LOCATION OFF SITE. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL OBTAIN ANY
AND ALL STATE OR LOCAL APPROVALS AND SUBMIT COPIES TO THE CITY FOR RECORD.
S. TREES TO BE INSTALLED ALONG THE TOP OF BANK SHALL BE INSTALLED ONCE THE
ENTIRE STREAM LENGTH IS COMPLETED.
9. REMOVE ALL TEMPORARY EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL DEVICES AND MEASURES
UPON ESTABLISHMENT OF VEGETATIVE COVER AND UPON APPROVAL BY THE CITY AND AT
COMPLETION OF THE PROJECT.
