FW: Silver Lake Emergency Ramp Repair
NWP3_3-23.pdf
Hey KLC,
The Corps has issued a NW 3 for this. We can just treat it as a courtesy notification for GC 3883. At first I was thinking
we don't really need to give it a BIMS # since there are no real impacts but it might be easier to track and file info if it has
a project #. What do you think?

Cat,
I have reviewed your request to place a piling adjacent to the existing gantry structure located on the west side
of the western ramp at the Silver Lake Ferry Terminal in Ocracoke, Hyde County, North Carolina. The piling is necessary
for repairs to be completed on the existing loading ramp. You request meets the terms and conditions of Nationwide
Permit 3, Maintenance. The work must be done as shown on the drawing attached to your request and the piling must
be removed when the required repairs are complete.
Please feel free to contact me if you have questions about this or any other matter.

Subject: [EXTERNAL] Silver Lake Emergency Ramp Repair
Tracey/Garcy,
Lance just contacted me and we need to perform an emergency repair on the South ramp in the Ocracoke Silver Lake
Ferry Terminal. The South ramp is located (if standing on land and looking at the water) on the right side of the terminal.
This ramp and gantry is severely bent and needs to be repaired as soon as possible to keep up with the demand of
tourist season. In order to make these repairs we need to drive a temporary pile on the right side of the ramp, behind
the gantry structure. This will stabilize any possible movement from the gantry while our crew straightens everything up.
This pile will be temporary and will only be in place for a couple of days while repairs are taking place. Installation will be
done with our vibratory hammer.
I have attached a map showing the proposed location of the temporary piling.
If you have any questions or need any additional information please contact me
Thank you,
