Sullins, Director Division of Water Quality February 8, 2008 DWQ Project # 08-0240 Wake County CERTIFIED MAIL: RETURN RECEIPT REQUESTED Mr. Shelton Barefoot 1709 Bayleaf Trail Raleigh, NC 27614 Subject Property: Barefoot Industrial Park Sewer Extension Ut to Pots Branch [030402, 27-33-9-1, B, NSWJ REQUEST FOR MORE INFORMATION Dear Mr. Barefoot: On February 4, 2008, the Division of Water Quality (DWQ) received your application dated February 4, 2007, to impact 801inear feet of perennial stream impact (temporary impact) and 2,553 square feet of Zone 1 Neuse River basin protected riparian buffers and 4,294 square feet of Zone 2 Neuse River basin protected riparian buffers to construct the proposed sewer extension at the site. The DWQ has determined that your application was incomplete and/or provided inaccurate information as discussed below. The DWQ will require additional information in order to process your application to impact protected wetlands and/or streams on the subject property. Therefore, unless we receive five- copies of the additional information requested below, we will have to move toward denial of your application as required by 15A NCAC 2H .0506 and will place this project on hold as incomplete until we receive this additional information. Please provide the following information so that we may continue to review your project. Additional Information Requested: Please indicate how the sewer lines will cross the creek. We assume they will be installed via open cut. If so, please explain why they could not be installed via jack and bore method. 2. Please explain why the manhole locations cannot be relocated such that manhole easements do not impact buffer areas. Please submit this information within 30 calendar days of the date of this letter.
