Good morning everyone!
This is a follow up email for Guilford County bridge No. 189 replacement. If you recall, this was a bridge we permitted in
December, prior to the survey for the Small whorled Pogonia. The approvals for this project were granted with the
understanding that construction would not begin until AFTER the survey for the Pogonia was completed.
NES staff went out earlier this week and found NO SPECIES or HABITAT at this bridge site. Please reference the email
from Jim Mason below. Please note this email also addresses 2 additional bridges that we are currently working on.
Therefore, with this email, we have addressed the conditions of the approval and NCDOT intends to begin construction
on the bridge.

Jamie-
Jeff Hemphill and I went out to the projects yesterday (Tuesday May 17, 2016) and surveyed for small-whorled pogonia.
No individuals were identified on any of the projects. There are no occurrences of this species within 1.0 mile per
NCNHP. Therefore, the Biological conclusion for this species for all projects is No Effect. Please let me know if you have
any questions or require any additional information.
