Can you meet him at the land so we can try to resolve this? We just want to make sure we are doing this to everyone's satisfaction and can turn the land over to the buyer. They are still trying to close on Thursday. With regard to the ditch, I don't see why you couldn't do that. The jute will degrade over time and will provide good stabilization. I have included Emily on this too, in case she has input with this. Thanks On Monday, February 15, 2016 12:08 PM, Lisa Salemi <lisalemi37@gmail.com> wrote: Gene Did you walk up creek? Sediment is washing into the creek from a lot on Treasure Way. The builder was complaining that every time it rains it washes out his lot and he has to replace it. Which means it is washing down stream on to my land and with the 80% chance of rain tomorrow it will make it worse. Can we put fill on top of the jute in the ditch area and then put jute on top of that to help with the stabilization? Here are some observations that should be noted. 1. The jute netting is in place without straw over the top along the creek edges. It appears that sediment is washing through. I would continue to recommend putting straw and seed over this to limit the sedimentation. 2. A fresh sediment load is in the creek that needs to be brought out. 2 3. The ditch is still in the wetland. This needs to be back filled to match elevation within the wetland. This may mean additional backfilling upslope to match grade while not creating a strong slope to avoid erosion. This would then need to be stabilized and seeded. 4. The Hay bales appear to be working to keep sediment load out of the stream to an adequate degree. I have attached a couple of pictures that represent the site. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks Gene On Monday, February 15, 2016 7:25 AM, "Steenhuis, Joanne" <joanne.steenhuis@ncdenr.gov> wrote: Let me know if you think it is good.
