Please accept this email as an official response to the attached September 11, 2024, Notice of Violation. As you know, we are continuing to work with Kinley Horn engineers to complete the wastewater treatment facility expansion project. The sprayfield modification continues to be the most complex component of the project, and thus we are currently peer reviewing multiple design configurations. Peer reviewing the sprayfield configurations will impact the overall project schedule but will result in most efficient designed project. As a result, we expect to submit the complete permit application to your office by the end of the year. Concurrent with the expansion project, we have also initiated a project to investigate and remediate routes of I&I into the system, including scoping the collection system, resealing liftstations and manholes, repair/replace sewer caps, as necessary. As we discussed in our last meeting, the flow exceedances will be resolved with the addition of the new treatment train and expanded sprayfield area. Also, as Kimley Horn engineers indicated, the facility continues to perform well even as flows have exceeded the permit limit but not the rated treatment capacity of 40,000 gpd. As always, please feel free to contact me if I can be of assistance.
