Inspection Summary:
On September 9, 2024, DWR staff Kristen Potwora and Micheal Gearren conducted a structural evaluation of the waste storage
pond at Cashatt Dairy in Randolph County. Mr. Cashatt was present during the inspection and was actively agitating the pond and
land applying waste to reduce the waste levels in the pond.The waste storage pond was above the marker and into the structural
freeboard.There were no signs or evidence of discharge or over topping of the waste on the embankment or in Randleman Lake.
During Hurricane Debbie,waste was diverted from the barns to the upper part of the structure,farthest away from the
embankment and Randleman Lake. Once Mr. Cashatt can reduced the waste storage pond waste levels, he informed DWR staff
that he will be removing the waste above the pond.
