Page Street Southern Pines,NC 28387 Re: Post construction inspection: Storm water BMP Device (Maxwell Ridge; Mildred Way, Aberdeen, NC, Hoke County NC) Mr. Humphrey, A post construction visit/inspection was conducted at the stormwater BMP device in the newly developed Maxwell Ridge sub-division on November 9,2023. The following items were observed during my visit. - The stormwater BMP is performing as designed with all storm water draining/infiltrating no more than 72 hours after rainfall - Vegetation is in place and properly maintained around the BMP device - Borings were placed within the stormwater BMP device to observe soil conditions below the filter media and filter fabric o Soil conditions were consistent with the initial evaluation of the storm water BMP area o Infiltration rates of soil horizons within the infiltration trench were consistent with the preliminary findings as shown in the table below: Ksat Ksat (SL/SCL (SCL/SC) Transition) 6"/hour .8"/hour o One area of clay textured soil was observed at the northern end of the BMP device that has limited infiltration capability. It should be noted that variations in soil quality and infiltration rates are common in all areas; the presence of the clay soil, although not observed during the initial evaluation,is not impacting the performance of the BMP device. I am pleased to be of service in this matter and can be contacted at your convenience if you have questions concerning information within this report. Thank you, colt.
