This letter is in response to NOV-2024-LV-0648 letter dated 7-17-24 to Tweetsie
Railroad attached.
Per your letter the BOD results exceeded the daily limit of 7.5 mg/1 with a 7.9 mg/1 on 5-
21-24 and 23.4 mg/1 on 5-29-24. This resulted in exceeding the monthly average for the
month with a 9.15 mg/1 over the 5 mg/1 limit. Ammonia nitrogen exceeded the monthly
average limit of 2 mg/1 with a 2.35 mg/l average.
The operator noted the effluent was affected by the season grand opening with increased
flows and organic loading. One of the two sludge return valve broke due to age and has
been replaced but affected the solids level and overall treatment.
