RE: EMC SOC WQ S20-001 August 2024 Quarterly Progress Report
Mr.Hennessy,
Union County Water receieved the fully excuted SOC for the Grassy Branch WRF on June 21,2022.As a
requirement of this SOC the County is to submit quarterly progress reports. This letter is intended to serve
as the quarterly progress report. Below is a summary of items that took place during the May 2024 report
period.
For Collections system permit WQCS00054
• Ongoing inflow and infiltration(I&I)rehabilitation in the Grassy Branch basin.
o All I&I concerns identified in the June 2022 Grassy Branch Collections System
Assessment Report have been addressed.
For NPDES Permit NC0085812
• Submit contract documents for regulatory approval for Grassy Branch WWTP upgrade project.
o Bid opening was held on July 1, 2024. Bid was awarded to Dellinger,Inc.by Union
County Board of County Commissioners July 15,2024.
o Union County submitted all required documentation for NCDEQ-DWI approval of the
bid award on July 18, 2024.
o The formal notice of award will be issued to Dellinger,Inc.upon NCDEQ-DWI approval
of the award.
o The construction Notice to Proceed will be issued by September 30,2024. The
construction contract period is 500 days for final completion.
