Inspection Summary:
A compliance inspection was conducted on May 16, 2024, with Sarah Toppen and Robert Tankard present with NCDEQ
DWR. Anthony Jordan, ORC, David Myers, Public Utilities Supervisor and Corey Gooden, Town Manager were present for
the Town of Edenton.
There was a modified permit that was issued on August 5, 2021. The modifications addressed in that permit are now in the
process of being constructed/replaced/relocated. The permit appears to have everything listed for the modification.
The lagoon has 18 of the Blue Frog units in place with five more to go. There’s more than two feet of freeboard available in
the lagoon.
The trees in the spray irrigation fields have been mulched, and the fields appear to be in good condition. The ORC is working
on how long to spray on each field during one event.
The facility is currently under a Special Order by Consent (SOC). Due to the SOC the facility is considered noncompliant.
They are following and working on correcting the issues to the best of their ability in respect to the deadlines.
