Ron Boone, of the Winston Salem Regional Office (WSRO) of the NC Division of Water Resources (DWR or the Division), conducted a compliance evaluation inspection of the single family wastewater system at the subject address on September 30, 2013. According to property records, you are the current owner of the residence. 2. The residence uses a discharging wastewater treatment system, which treats the wastewater produced at the home and then discharges it into the environment. In order to legally discharge in NC, such a system must be permitted under the NCG550000 General Wastewater Permit. Your home has been permitted under the NCG550000 General Wastewater Permit under Certificate of Coverage (COC) NCG550175. A copy of the NCG550000 General Wastewater Permit and your COC has been included•with this letter. NCG550000 contains all the requirements with which you must comply in order to continue to legally discharge the wastewater in NC under the NCG550000 permit. 3. The State requires the Division to inspect these types of systems approximately every five years. Yours was last inspected on 7/31/2009. The inspection Mr. Boone, performed on September 30, 2013, was not a complete inspection. The systems should be inspected at least every five years to ensure they're properly operated and maintained. Failure to do so can result in expensive repair costs as well as failure of the system to properly treat the wastewater. 4. Please contact Mr. Boone at your earliest convenience at 336-771-4967 in order to schedule a full inspection of your system. Mr. Boone will also be able to explain the NCG550000 General Wastewater permit in greater detail and answer any questions you may have.
