I just finished installing a 2-wire fence around the septic field, and I have requested the UV installation from AQWA, asked
for the next available time, so i hope that will be soon. I will let you know when they get back w me.
I am hoping these steps will lead to a good inspection result.

There is no requirement to have telemetry, as long as someone will contact Aqwa if the alarm goes off. I
suspect it may have been going off when you were out, and one of the neighbors or workers in the area
removed the fuse to shut off the alarm. This is not uncommon.

Just to let you know, I did not remove and was not aware that the alarm fuse had been removed. I am not sure how that
happened.
Would it be all right if i have the alarm system's operation restored so that I can call Aqwa if/when the alarm goes off? Or
must I get a Iandline so that they can monitor it remotely?

Good evening. Overall, the inspection went well, and the drip field appears to be in good shape. This being
said, there are several maintenance and recordkeeping items that you will need to addressed:

• The ultraviolet disinfection system is not functioning, and needs to be repaired or replaced. Disinfection
prior to surface discharge is critical to avoid potential disease vectors.
• There was no dial tone from the control panel, which means the system cannot be monitored remotely
by Aqwa. This panel should be repaired or replaced so that Aqwa can monitor the system remotely. It
appears that several alarms were triggered, and someone removed a fuse from the system to shut
them off. While this is understandable, it is a permit violation. If Aqwa can monitor the system
remotely, or is informed when there is an alarm, they can take action.
• The spray field is not fenced, as required by the permit. A minimum of a two -wire fence is required to
mark the limits of the field, prevent people from damaging the system, and to prevent potential human
exposure to wastewater.
• Your permit has expired. You will need to request renewal using the attached form.
I will be preparing a detailed letter summarizing the inspection, and will provide this to you when completed. If
you are able to address any of the items above before I issue the letter, I can revise it to indicate as much.
