Hello Charles, it would be a one-time discharge event. Thanks, Travis. Thank you, Travis. I'm concerned about the release of a large volume of water into the UT and the potential solids issues it could create downstream. Charles H. Hi Charles, I'm reaching out to request your permission to release our tank dike stormwater directly into the ditch(UT). The remediation team is still conducting the test listed below. There's a concern that discharging the dike water into the pond will overwhelm the treatment system. In addition, the tank dike water is visually inspected and documented. Visual inspection will be conducted during discharging to the ditch. Thank You, Travis. Excavation was conducted at the facility back in March to remove impacted soils and to reduce the concentrations of COCs that were entering our on -site storm water drain. Since then, water entering that drain has been routed through the treatment system and into the retention ponds. Starting next week, we will be conducting a 3 to 4 day test to allow the storm drain to flow naturally back into the ponds. The treatment system will be treating water in Pond 1 and discharging into Pond 2. Water in Pond 2 will flow through our NPDES discharge point as normal. No secondary discharge point will be created. The purpose of this test is to obtain data that supports the removal of the treatment system. When the test is over, the system will be reverted back to its original configuration and the data will be evaluated. If you have any questions or require additional information please let me know. A temporary carbon treatment system was mobilized to the site last week to process water from the impacted areas prior to combining with the existing NPDES discharge system. Upon discovery of the release, the discharge of water from the impacted area had been isolated from the rest of the NPDES system and the water has been staged in frac tanks prior to offsite disposal. The temporary treatment system will allow water from the impacted area to be processed through a series of bag filters for additional sediment removal prior to treatment of the water through two (2) sets of 2, 000-pound liquid granular activated carbon (LGAC) vessels in series and then pumped to the existing on -site retention basins prior to discharge to Outfall 001. Sampling of the system influent, mid -point, and effluent will be taken upon system startup and then weekly thereafter. Sampling of the outfall will continue on a monthly basis as required by the NPDES permit. Please let me know if you have any questions or require any additional information.
