Re: Project: Wake Chapel Church
Subject: Revised pond and level spreader plans
Dear Ms. Lucas,
Thank you for meeting with me to discuss the above project. I've attached revised sheets C2 and C3 from
the construction drawings. The following comments from our meeting have been addressed:
The level spreader length was recalculated based on planting grass below the level spreader to
the edge of the stream buffer while leaving the stream buffer intact. That included 8 feet of
grass and 52 feet of wooded vegetation for a total of 60 feet from the level spreader to the
stream. The required level spreader length is 125 ft, which is 58 ft/cfs at 2.15 cfs.
The emergency spillway was redesigned to flow around the bypass structure and enter the
stream at an angle.
The bypass channel was shown as entering the emergency spillway directly below the bypass
structure.
The revised Level Spreader Worksheet is also attached. There appears to be an error in the comment
column of the worksheet beside the `Length of level lip' row. The 125 ft provided for the lip is correct
based on 58ft/cfs for 2.15 cfs of flow.
Please let me know if you have any questions or additional comments.
Sincerely,
Jon Frazier, EI
