HomeMy WebLinkAboutNC0000752_Correspondence_20231113Baker, Caroline D From: Fleek, Eric Sent: Friday, November 3, 2023 4:53 PM To: Chernikov, Sergei Subject: RE: [External] NPDES Permit No. NC0000752 Mixing Study Submittal Follow Up Flag: Follow up Flag Status: Flagged The consultants exclude data from NC0000752 from early 2020 to present. I have gotten that data and from our AMS folks and the max for that period of record was 28.9, so it fits within the models assumptions. The caveat to my review is that I am just a biologist and not a modeler and so I am talking somewhat outside of my expertise. From an editorial, nit -picky viewpoint, it would have been helpful if the consultant had included monthly increments on the x-axis on Figures 2, 3, 4, 5, and 7. Anyway, all that aside, from a biological perspective, I can't find much fault with it the models conclusion. If the model turns out to be accurate, the thermal discharge probably won't have significant deleterious impacts on the invertebrate community.
