Per your request, this letter is to provide an update regarding the interim storage and waste disposal
management practices for wastewater potentially containing 1,4 Dioxane that may be generated by
Apollo Chemical. We continue to operate under the terms of the SIU discharge permit issued to Apollo
Chemical. Further, Apollo continues to collect and store this wastewater as described below and is
working with licensed waste disposal companies to identify the best disposal solution for off -site
treatment and disposal of this waste stream. Our current management plan is as follows:
As waste potentially containing 1,4 Dioxane is collected, it is being stored in closed, spill resistant
containers at our facility for proper waste characterization and further processing by waste
haulers.
2. This waste stream is being analyzed and properly characterized for transportation and disposal
by two disposal companies, Clean Management Environmental Group, Inc. and Premier
Industrial Services Group, LLC. Their web addresses are below. We will likely use them both
for disposal, with services to be rendered based on availability and costs; however, Apollo is
currently in the final phases of contractor selection and retention. We expect that one or both of
these companies will be onsite this month (April 2024) to conduct the first removal of containers
for disposal. We will retain any manifests or bills of lading for our permit files to reflect the ultimate
treatment and disposal location. As soon as we have finalized the contractor selection and
arranged for the contractor to be onsite for removal, we will advise your office.
