General Project Narrative: The project consists of replacement of Bridge 146 on SR 2363 (Beale Road) over Rock Creek and associated roadway work. The existing structure is a single span 24'-7.5"
(Description of Minimization of Water timber deck on I-beams bridge. The existing structure sufficiency rating was not listed on the Bridge Inspection Report. The proposed structure will be a 28' x 4' bottomless
Quality Impacts) culvert. The project will increase impervious surface by 2,850 square feet (0.07 acres). The increased flow from impervious surfaces will be directed through existing grassed
channels on the northeast, southeast, and southwest sides of the proposed bottomless culvert; and through a new riprap channel on the northwest side of the proposed
bottomless culvert. This treatment provides sufficient filtration in accordance with the NCDOT Alternative Design Criteria.
