Please provide a description of existing or substantially constructed wastewater treatment facilities: Drinking Water Plant: Alum Sludge (AlSO4) from settling basin and the back wash from filters are pumped to Trac-Vac Basins, the sludge is pumped from these basins to sludge press for dewatering, this water is sent back to Trac-Vac Basins and the supernatant is discharged f. Please provide a description of proposed wastewater treatment facilities: NA g. Possible toxic impacts to surface waters: NaOH (pH), chlorine, and metals(e.g. monomeric aluminum, Fe) are some of the toxicity concerns for this facility. h. Other Special Items: PART IV - EVALUATION AND RECOMMENDATIONS It was noted during the inspection that Alum sludge from the Sun Set Water Treatment Plant is taken to the Tar River Water Treatment Plant for sludge dewatering. Also, the Tar River Water Treatment Plant is not currently monitoring flow as per their current NPDES permit requirement. The Flow monitoring SOC PRIORITY PROJECT: Yes No If Yes, SOC No. i issue will be addressed by correspondence form the RRO and should continue to be a permit requirement.
