HomeMy WebLinkAboutWQ0039827_WQ0039827 Nondischarge SFR Inspection letter_20240223 February 23, 2024 Martin and Rebecca Thompson 3700 Thompson Woods Lane Oxford NC 27565 SUBJECT: Compliance Inspection Report 2594 Smith Road (3700 Thompson Woods Lane) SFR Non-discharge Permit No. WQ0039827 Granville County Dear Permittee: The North Carolina Division of Water Resources conducted an inspection of the 2594 Smith Road SFR on January 24, 2024. This inspection was conducted to verify that the facility is operating in compliance with the conditions and limitations specified in Non-discharge Permit No. WQ0039827. The findings and comments noted during this inspection are provided in the enclosed copy of the inspection report entitled "Compliance Inspection Report". Division records indicate a treatment system consisting of a 1000-gallon baffled septic tank with filter; a 1,000- gallon recirculation tank with a 12-gallon/ minute (GPM) pump; EZ Treat POD, a dual UV disinfection; a 3,500- gallon storage /dosing tank with audible/visual high-water alarms; a 0.59-acre spray irrigation area with six spray nozzles; and all associated piping, valves, controls and appurtenances. During the inspection, the following was observed: Schedule (Section I of permit): 1. The permit expired on May 31, 2023. A permit renewal application has not been received as of the date of this letter. Please submit a renewal application. The facility meets the performance standards and setbacks as stipulated in Section II of the permit. Operation and Maintenance (O&M) (Section III): 3. One of the irrigation lines was cracked underground and has created a hole for irrigation water to pool into. Please repair the line and fill in the hole. 4. In addition, there was a tree branch sitting on the wire fence. Please clear any debris on the fence and repair the fence, if needed. General Conditions (Section VI): 6.The facility continues to be owned by the Thompsons and annual fees are paid to date. No violations or complaints have been reported in the past five years. This report is a notification of the results of the compliance inspection. Within 30-days receipt of this letter, submit a written response to this office addressing the issues noted in item 1, 3, and 4 above. Please be aware that non-compliance with your permit could result in enforcement action by the Division of Water Resources for these and any other violations of State law.
