Re: Charlotte Water Allocation Tables Effective January 1, 2024
Dear Mr. Montebello,
Enclosed are Charlotte Water's active allocation tables as of January 1, 2024. As of this date we have also updated
the MAIL values in the allocation tables for Irwin Creek WWTP (NC002494S) in accordance with the updated
Headworks Analysis that was recently completed for this plant.
An updated Headworks Analysis was submitted to NCDEQ on September 1, 2023 for Irwin Creek WWTP. As of this
date Charlotte Water has not received any comments related to this submission apart from acknowledgement that
it was received.
Charlotte Water has had multiple changes to our plants and in our service area since the Headworks Analyses for
Irwin Creek was last submitted and approved in 2018. We are choosing to use the revised MAIL and MAHL
calculations so that we may adequately protect our plants and support growth in our region. This is in accordance
with statements made by NCDEQ pretreatment staff during the North Carolina Pretreatment Consortium meeting
held on June 8, 2023. During that meeting staff indicated that a properly submitted Headworks Analysis is
appropriate for use for local limits development, and that the submitted analysis is valid until modification
requests are made.
