The project is located along Kings Landing Road in Pender County. The property is approximately 16.7 acres and is planned and preliminarily approved as a second phase to a current subdivision. In order to access proposed residential lots, fill material and a culvert will be needed in a very small portion of the noted wetlands; therefore the use of a Nationwide Permit 29 is being sought. The proposed project consists of construction of a road across a small wetland area to access an area of uplands where potential lots are proposed. The proposed impact has been minimized significantly and is proposed to be approximately 0.098 acres. This proposed wetland impact has been minimized by positioning the crossing perpendicular to the wetland and crossing in one of the smallest areas. Also, DOT approval to reduce right of way requirements has been obtained to further reduce the impact. If you have any questions or require any additional information, please feel free to contact me at (910) 270 -2919.
