RE: EMC SOC WQ S20-001 November 2023 Quarterly Progress Report
Mr.Hennessy,
Union County Water receieved the fully excuted SOC for the Grassy Branch WRF on June 21,2022. As a
requirement of this SOC the County is to submit quarterly progress reports.This letter is intended to serve
as the quarterly progress report.Below is a summary of items that took place during the August 2023
report period.
For Collections system permit WQCS00054
• Ongoing inflow and infiltration(I&I)rehabilitation in the Grassy Branch basin.
o All I&I concerns identified in the June 2022 Grassy Branch Collections System
Assessment Report have been addressed.
For NPDES Permit NC0085812
• Submit Contract documents for regulatory approval for Grassy Branch WWTP upgrade project.
o Contract documents and Authorization to Construct was submitted on December 19,
2023
• Upon receiept of the required Division of Water Resources Authorization to Construct,begin
construction of Grassy Branch WWTP upgrades.
o Awaiting the required approval from DWR.
