Incident #202301119 was the result of a 12" PVC line getting stopped up with roots and debris at the manhole. The City of Hickory crews responded quickly with a jetter to try and clear the blockage. After an unsuccessful attempt, the City of Hickory crews pumped out the line with a pump truck to stop the SSO. Once the line was pumped out, the crew removed the roots/debris from the invert and the sewer flowed freely. The City of Hickory takes all violations seriously and works diligently in promoting and protecting the environment, health and natural resources of our community through responsible stewardship in the collection and treatment of wastewater and hopes you will consider the above factors when considering enforcement action against the violation that occurred. Should you have any further questions, please do not hesitate contacting me at 828-323-7427. Sincerely, Kenneth Pennell Utilities Maintenance Supervisor PC: M.
