Incident #202301533 was the result of a blockage caused by wipes and rags. City of Hickory crews responded quickly once the SSO was discovered and jetted the line until the blockage was clear. After the SSO was stopped, the crews cleaned up debris and lime was spread over the area of the overflow. Incident #202301537 was the result of a blockage caused by wipes and rags. City of Hickory crews responded quickly once the SSO was discovered and jetted the line several times until the blockage was clear and flow returned to normal. After the SSO was stopped, the crews cleaned up debris from the area of the overflow. The City of Hickory takes all violations seriously and works diligently in promoting and protecting the environment, health and natural resources of our community through responsible stewardship in the collection and treatment of wastewater and hopes you will consider the above factors when considering enforcement action against the violation that occurred.
