General Project Narrative: State Project 176P.6.R.40 (SF-230342) involves the replacement of the existing NCDOT Bridge #230342 on SR 1900 over Lake Waccamaw Canal. Bridge #230342 consists

1. Install Tucbidiry Cur[ain in the caoal between Cove Ca�al and I,ake
WaccamawjustdownstrearnoFtheproposed'unpervious dike.
2 Install impervious dike (sand bag / AquaBarrier / sheeting) both up and
downstreain to ctose off the construction azea to eliminate flow into Lake
Waccarnaw.
3. Dewa[eri�g ofthe co�sWCtion site shall be acwmplished by pumping to a
aintained silt bag. All connectio�s and hose lines shall be inspected for proper
coupling fit and leaks before commencement of daily work. Used silt bags shall
bc changcd out in accordance with the manufactwds specifcations and not
altowed to overcharge and release sediment to s� ce waters and / or wetlands.
Silt bags shall not be placed within any wetland or surf ce water.
4. Remove bridge and install Aliuninum Box Culvert
5. Bac�ll project azea and stabilize disturbed area.
6. Remove imperviaus dike then turbidity curtain / complete project
Afl work shall be conducted in accordance with tlie ` Best maoagement Practices for
Conshuction and Maintenance Activities", dated Ausust 2003.
