DWR has reviewed the application submitted on September 14, 2015 regarding DOT's request to conduct subsurface
investigations to gather information for the foundation design for B-4929, proposed replacement of Bridge No. 16 over
the Intracoastal Waterway on NC 210/50 in Pender County, BRSTP-50(10), WBS No. 40233.1.1 DWR has determined
that the proposed impacts are eligible for authorization under WQC 3883, which correspond to the Nationwide Permit 6
issued by the Corps of Engineers. Based on the proposal submitted by DOT this project does not meet any of the
thresholds listed in this certification and therefore does not require written authorization from DWR. However, you
should acquire any other federal, state or local permits before you proceed with your project including (but not limited
to) Sediment and Erosion Control, Non-Discharge and Water Supply Watershed regulations. This approval will expire
with the accompanying 404 permit.
For this approval to remain valid, you must adhere to all conditions listed in the attached certification. Furthermore, the
project must be constructed in accordance with the provisions of the NCDOT's National Pollutant Discharge Elimination
(NPDES) Stormwater Permit NCS000250, including the applicable requirements of the NCG01000.
Should your project change or if you determine that you cannot meet one of the conditions of this certification, you
must notify the DWR and acquire approval before work begins. This project has been assigned DWR Project No.
20150955.
