E. Silt Fence:
1. Place silt fence as shown on the plans to retain sediment and to divert runoff from the
disturbed areas.
2. Silt fence fabric shall be Mirafi 100 or approved equal.
3. Filter fabric shall be fastened:
To 1.33 LB/FT steel"T"posts, 5 feet in height, spaced at 8 foot intervals with wire mesh
support fence(14 GA., 6 x 6, securely attached)used.
To 1.33 LB/FT steel"T"posts, 5 feet in height, spaced at 6 foot intervals if extra strength
silt fence fabric is used.
4. Extend wire and/or fabric into a trench 8 inches deep on the disturbed area side of the
fence, and compact soil over trench.
5. Ensure that the finished height of the silt fence does not exceed 24"high.
6. When joints are necessary, securely fasten the filter cloth only at a support post with a
minimum 4' overlap to the next post.
