Section D: Summary of Finding/Comments (Attach additional sheets of narrative and checklists as necessary) On September 15, 2023, Division of Water Resources staff Gary Hudson conducted a routine compliance inspection at the Olde Beau WWTP. William Young was present during the inspection. A review of the May 2023, and August 2023 eDMR were compared to laboratory bench sheets. No discrepancies were noted. During the inspection, the following violation and areas of concern were noted: Violation: During the inspection it was noted that the flow meter had not been calibrated since October 28, 2021. Mr. Young has since provided proof that the flow meter was calibrated on October 2, 2023. Areas of Concern: Upon examining the aeration basin the mixed liquor suspended solids (MLSS) appeared to be extremely diluted. Mr. Young said that the settleability test was around 200 SSV, and his MLSS handheld meter was reading 1200 mg/I. The influent flow varies greatly from 1400 gallons per day to 23,000 gallons per day. The following treatment components and documents were inspected: Permit The permit became effective on November 1, 2022, and expires on March 31, 2026. Preliminary Treatment: Preliminary treatment consists of a bar screen. Primary Treatment: Primary treatment consists of one large flow equalization basin. The unit was operating properly during the inspection. Secondary Treatment: Secondary treatment consists of an activated sludge basin (ASB), and a secondary clarifier. Both units were operating properly during the inspection. Final Effluent: A tablet chlorinator with 3 tablet tubes is used for disinfection, and a tablet de -chlorinator with 3 tablet tubes is used for de -chlorination. The effluent flow meter was calibrated on October 2, 2023. Sludge Digestion: Sludge digestion consists of one aerobic digester. Except for the flow meter not being calibrated, the inspection of the facility was satisfactory.
