General Project Narrative:
Best Management Practices (BMPs) and runoff controls used forthis project have been implemented to reduce the stormwater impacts to the receiving stream due to erosion
(Description of Minimization of Water
and unfiltered runoff. Temporary construction runoff will be controlled by using Silt Fence, Special Sediment Control Fence Sections, Rock Silt Checks with Matting and
Quality Impacts)
Flocculant, Impervious Dikes, Special Stilling Basins, Rock Pipe Inlet Sediment Traps, and Rock Inlet Sediment Traps, Clean Water Diversions and Temporary Matting and
Grassing.
The existing 26' continuous span bridge will be replaced with a double 12' X 6' partially buried box culvert. The proposed roadway will have a 2% normal crown and will drain
through grass shoulders, roadside ditches, and existing drainage structures, no new drainage structures are proposed. The roadside ditches will be maintained and lined with
rock silt checks to minimize the discharge of sediment laden water into the stream. Impervious dikes will be used to help divert the stream during culvert construction. The
existing abutments and bridge structure will be completely removed. The right culvert barrel will have a 1' concrete sill and will serve as the low flow barrel and the left barrel
will have a 2' sill which will transition into floodplain benches upstream and downstream of the culvert. No channel modifications are proposed for this project outside of the right
of -way. Existing drainage patterns are being maintained.

1. Locate a healing —in site in a shady, well
protected area.
2. Excavate a flat bottom trench
12 inches deep and provide drainage.
3. Backfill the trench with 2 inches well
rotted sawdust. Place a 2 inch layer of
well rotted sawdust at a sloping angle
at one end of the trench.
4. Place a single layer of plants
against the sloping end so that
the root collar is at ground level.
5. Place a 2 inch layer of well rotted
sawdust over the roots maintaining
a sloping angle. ,
6. Repeat layers of plants and sawdust
as necessary and water thoroughly.

container to prevent the
root systems from drying.
KBC PLANTING BAR
Planting bar shall have a
blade with a triangular
cross section, and shall
be 12 inches long,
4 inches wide and
