Good Morning Zhang. Confirming our conversation yesterday afternoon:
• Our annual mill outage (CMO) started Wednesday October 4th. We stopped the pulping
process at about 4PM.
• The Wastewater discharge valve (Effluent 001) to the Roanoke River was closed at 5 AM on
Thursday October 5th'. Thie will be reported according on the eDMRs.
• As is usual during CMO, we take down the main clarifier (on an every other -year basis) clean it
out, inspect the rakes, etc. and perform any maintenance necessary. When the mill is
completely down and the clarifier is drained sufficiently, we begin pumping around the
clarifier directly to the aeration pond (ASB). This started at 4:30 yesterday afternoon October
13th and will continue until the clarifier returns to service. That date will be reported as a
follow up to this notice.
This is an extended outage this year. Mill operations are not scheduled to begin until Sunday
November 5th. We have not determined yet when we will open the discharge valve (Effluent 001). It
is anticipated to be the week of October 30th. That date will be reported as a follow up to this
notice.
