I've had a chance to review the application you submitted for a Buffer Authorization for your deck renovation project,
and I need some more information. I need to know the square footage of impact in the buffer. The Neuse Riparian
Buffer is divided into two zones. Zone 1 is the first 30 feet closest to the streambank, and Zone 2 is the outer 20 feet.
I've attached an example of an impact map for your information. You can take your existing survey and draw the two
buffer zones and then see where the deck overlaps into the buffer zones. It's important to get the square footage
accurately depicted because you'll need that to get a building permit from the Town of Cary.
