Dear Permittee,
On September 19, 2023, the Division of Energy, Mineral and Land Resources received your
request to rescind your coverage under NPDES Stormwater Permit NCS000532. After
performing a facility inspection on September 27, 2023, the Division has determined a permit
rescission cannot be granted at this time. You are required to continue following all monitoring
and reporting requirements of stormwater permit NCS000532.
Please note the current permit expired on October 31, 2015 and a renewal application has not
been received to date. A renewal application must be submitted to the Stormwater
Permitting Program by November 3,2023 or enforcement action(s) may be taken.
Operating a treatment facility, discharging wastewater, or discharging specific types of
stormwater to waters of the State without valid coverage under an NPDES permit is against
federal and state laws and could result in fines. If something changes and your facility and you
would like to reapply for rescission of the stormwater permit,you may submit the request at a
future date. If the facility is in the process of being sold,you would be performing a public
service if you inform the new or prospective owners of their potential need for NPDES permit
coverage.
