El Compliant o Non -Compliant If the facility is non -compliant, please explain in the space below the reason(s) the facility was not in compliance. Provide in your explanation the date(s) of the non-compliance and describe the corrective action(s) taken. Attach additional sheets if necessary. The sample collected on 8/14 demonstrates a TSS result of 5.4 mg/L (daily max limit 5 mg/L), as well as an elevated Nitrate/Nitrite result. The membranes were cleaned a few days prior to collecting the monthly sample, which resulted in some residual TSS entering the effluent. Around this time, the plant was not denitrifyin gadequately due to mechanical failures with the ORP probe and the carbon feed pump. The prot was replaced shortly after, and the carbon pump was brought back online and is now adequately dosing micro-c now to help initiate de -nitrification. In addition, operators have increased the amount of wasting that is occuring at the plant. The samples collected on 6/23/2023 demonstrate that TKN, Ammonia Nitrogen, and Nitrate/Nitrite samples were collected, however, an individual Nitrate sample was inadvertently omitted. Previously, we responded to this issue by providing additional compliance training and updated sample schedules to existing operations staff to prevent the potential recurrence of this error. Due to a transitional error during a period of staff turnover, some lapses in training resulted in operators having continued to sample combined Nitrate/Nitrite rather than just Nitrate. In response to this concern, we have repeated the process of providing additional compliance training and sample schedules to our new operations personnel. As an additional measure, we have incorporated these sample schedules into our work order system so that they can be provided automatically to operations staff. Flow and turbidity values reported for Friday - Sunday is comprised of averaged figures (Monday - preceding Friday divided by 3). We understand this to be standard practice, but please let us know if otherwise and we will begin obtaining precise flow and turbidity data for the weekends. We have moved forward with doing this for turbidity as of mid -September.
