Moving forward, DOT said that grading crews will be instructed as to where and when temporary diversion are to be
employed. At the end of the day the foreman will walk along and instruct operaters where to build them.

Comment: This was a post cleanup inspection downstream from a stormwater pipe where sediment was discharged
to a jurisdictional stream near station 590 left. A sediment basin was overwhelmed. Sediment was
cleaned from the stream over a 150 feet length. Top of bank areas were seeded with riparian mix.
Diversion berms were not installed in an efficacious manner which contributed to the sediment loss.
Miscommunication between pipe crew and EC crew was partly to blame.
