Remarks and Recommendations:
Partial review of project.
Heavy rains caused erosion and resulted in sediment loss at two locations. The site at approx sta 590, left,
has been cleaned up. There is some confusion about the pipe location on this side and the subsequent
installation of it conflicted with the EC plans. The EC plans must be adjusted to accomdate changes in the
drainage system.
Contractor's crews installing pipe and those installing EC devices should review the plans before working and
causing conflicts in the field. In short, follow the approved plans.
-Along L line, slope drain at approx sta. 594 left, failed. Fill in the sump and compact slope. Capture runoff
in sump outside the rip rap ring. Install two slope drains at this spot.
-Maintain diversions across the roadway and direct runoff in sections to each slope drain to avoid
overwhelming individual drains.
-Remove the temp ditch at headwall. Direct roadway runoff from sta 22 to sta 20 on driveway to basin 13.4;
from approx sta 19+25 to 20+00 to basin 13.8; sta 17+50 to 19+25 into the new Type B basin to be installed.
From before sta 15 to sta 17 needs to go into basins 13.1
-On 36" pipe, install rock pipe inlet silt trap per plans. Stabilize the outlet of the 36" pipe to prevent scour. No
erodible area should remain between the new basin to basin 13.4. Again, follow the plans.
-Install type B sediment basin and dam on left of pipe outlet (24x12) w 2 baffles. Direct runoff into the rear of
the basin. Maintain the existing skimmer basin 13.8 and stabilize the area from outlet to the pipe outlet area.
-Slopes along L line need to be finish graded n permanent stage seeded. Side slopes on driveway need to be
finish graded n permanent stage seeded as well. That means ditches need to be at final elevation n slopes
correct.
-At this site, all runoff needs to be broken up into drainage areas for each basin and directed into the basins.
Around sta 523, reinstall compacted berm. Use silt fence to close off toe of fill slope at skimmer outlet.
Stabilize the entire area between the skimmer outlet and the pipe outlet.
-Refurbish special sediment control fence and recommend rip rap the area from special sediment control fence
to energy dissipator at pipe outlet.

-Cleanout accumulated silt at pipe outlet.
-Cleanout skimmer basin.
-Slopes along this section need to be finish graded and permanent stage seeded.
-Cleanout silt fence and finalize this area.
-Per plans, sta 522 to 524 slopes are to be matted, which means finish grade, permanent stage seed and mat.
-Recommend installing rock toe protection and stabilizing this area as soon as possible.
-This area along the L line by the pond needs to be stabilized and monitored closely.
There is mis-communication within the contractor's operation that led to the pipe being installed in a different
location than anticipated by the other crews installing the EC devices. In any case, the EC devices can be
moved to accomodate the pipe location if needed. Locating and staking of the pipe locations accurately must
be done and the adjustments to the EC devices must be done to reflect the actual plan.
