In response to the NOV-2023-PC-0131 for the Town of Rutherfordton Land Application Permit No.
WQ0032855 we are implementing the flowing actions to prevent further issues:
1.All laboratory testing will be conducted at least 30 days prior to land application to make sure all
requirements are met for land application. This hasn’t been an issue in the past, as the 30-day
bench scale test has never had a problem in obtaining a passing result. Also, a new laboratory is
being utilized that reports the results at the 30-day point instead of reporting the results by the
week, this allows us to reflect clear compliance.
2.The change in RYE has been updated to reflect the changes made on the Realistic Yield
Expectation website.
In the review of the 2023 land application laboratory results, all laboratory testing was completed and
followed permit requirements, so there will be no further issues with the compliance of permit
WQ0032855.
