JqN 1.9 1982 PERMITS AD ENGINEERING Mr. Mitchell Newman, owner, has submitted an NPDES Permit Application for the discharge of washdown water from a seafood packing operation. The subject facilities are located near the terminus of SR 1100 in the Town of Swan Quarter. Wastewater is generated during the rinsing and packing of finfish. Approximately 500 gallons of wastewater per day (maximum) are discharged to an unnamed canal (sc) which is tributary to Swan Quarter Bay (SA). The actual point of discharge is located at latitude 350-24'-20" N and longitude 760-20'-00" W. Tech services has recommended the following effluent limits: BOD5 - 11.7 #/day - monthly average pH - 6 - 8.5 S.U. No BPT effluent guidelines are available for this type of operation. Based on obser- vation made at the site and the relatively small volume of wastewater, this operation should be capable of meeting the recommended effluent limits.
