Inspection Summary:
On August 16, 2023, MRO staff met with Stan Golaski,P.G., of Rogers & Callcott, the consultant for the permittee. The
purpose of the meeting was to talk about the need for a written proposal to perform abandonment of the infiltration gallery
associated with the GW treatment system. The permittee wishes to have the permit rescinded.
MRO staff informed the consultant that a written proposal would need to be submitted for the proper abandonment of the
infiltration gallery. The gallery would need to be abandoned in a manner consistent with the closure and would not allow
surface water contaminants to enter groundwater.
The facility will continue the use of the recovery well and treatment system before discharging the local POTW.
The consultant was informed that permit fees will need to be paid until the gallery is sufficiently closed and the permit can be
rescinded.
We expect to see the gallery closure proposal before the end of August 2023.
