Garvey-Fera Luna Lane Project
Hi Mitchell and Andrew -
I have reviewed the information sent to me about the Garvey-Fera Luna Lane Project, which
proposes to replace an existing 15-ft culvert with a 22-ft culvert on an unnamed tributary
to Brush Creek in Buncombe County.
The project should not impact wild trout and a trout moratorium is not needed for this
project. The plans did not specify culvert material. We recommend against using a high
density polyethylene material, as this slick material is less likely to hold stream substrate
and provide for movement of aquatic organisms like fish and salamanders.
