Salisbury Street Raleigh, North Carolina 27604 Dear Ms. Goss: On the date of this letter, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Environmental Resources Section submitted an electronic Preconstruction Notification (PCN) application on behalf of the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) requesting written approval to conduct maintenance dredging of the Walter Slough navigation channel and USCG Station Oregon Inlet boat basin, in Nags Head, Dare County, North Carolina. Maintenance dredging would be conducted utilizing various dredge types and placement options over the lifetime of the permit. The required fee for processing this request will be submitted when prompted. As you are aware, regular maintenance dredging of Federal channels is required to ensure safe navigation. Such activities are undertaken in compliance with all conditions of applicable state and federal authorizations, including the appropriate Water Quality Certification.
