Please correct the following: - SW3210802 Prior Comment 6 – It is not indicated on the plans that the bottom width of the bypass culvert channel is 6 ft, a detail is provided for the curb cut swales, but no detail is provided for the bypass culvert channel. Please revise. - The provided calculations for the curb outlet swales/vegetated areas appear to be incorrect. Based on the provided calculations, the cross-sectional side slope used in Manning’s Equation appears to be zero (whereas the other submittal items indicate 10:1 for CC#5-7 & 3:1 for CC#8-10). For example, from the calculations for CC#5, the flow area, A, is 1.2 sf, the wetted perimeter, Wp, is 3.2 ft, the depth of flow, h, is 0.6 ft, and the bottom width, B, is 2.0 ft. Assuming that the cross-sectional area of flow is a trapezoid and solving for side slopes, Z, results in a side slope of Z = 0 (A = Bh + Zh^2 -> 1.2 sf = 2.0 ft * 0.6 ft + Z * (0.6 ft)^2 -> 1.2 sf = 1.2 sf + 0.36Z sf -> Z = 0) which indicates a vertical side slope (i.e., the channel is modeled as a rectangular channel instead of a trapezoidal channel). Please revise as needed so that the calculations reflect the actual design conditions. - Supplement-EZ Form: o Low-Density Page:  CC#6 – The provided flow value (4.69 cfs) does not correspond to the value used in the calculations (5.65 cfs). Please revise as needed.  CC#7 – The provided flow value (3.55 cfs) does not correspond to the value calculated based on the drainage area information (C = 0.5, i = 7.64 in/hr, & A = 1.17 ac -> Q = 4.47 cfs). Please revise as needed.  Any other revisions needed to the swale design table due to the earlier comment. Please provide the following: - 2x hard copies & 1x electronic copy of the revised plan sheets (as needed). - 1x hard copy & 1x electronic copy of the revised swale/vegetated area calculations. - 1x hard copy & 1x electronic copy of the revised pages of the Supplement-EZ Form. Hard copies should be mailed to me at the following address: For FedEx/UPS: Jim Farkas 512 N. Salisbury Street, Office 640M Raleigh, NC 27604 For USPS: Jim Farkas 1612 Mail Service Center Raleigh, NC 27699-1612 1 Hand Delivery: Please reach out to me prior to hand delivering a submission to make sure that I (or someone else in my group) will be able to receive the submission. Reviews under the standard permitting process generally take 75 calendar days, but can take up to 90 calendar days per statute (our other reviewer, Corey Anen, no longer works for the State, so this review may exceed 75 days). Please upload all documents that you mailed into our office through the link provided below. Be sure to choose the Central Office as the Primary Contact office. https://edocs.deq.nc.gov/Forms/SW-Supplemental-Upload IMPORTANT NOTE: Please ensure that each file is uploaded under its appropriate file type. Additional file types can be entered into the electronic form by clicking on the “Add Another Post-Construction File Upload” link directly below the “State Stormwater Information Uploads” section of the form. Please do not upload entire plan sets through this form, but rather upload the relevant individual sheets under the appropriate file type. Selecting the correct file type ensures that the files are properly named in the electronic repository and it helps expedite the review process.
