Alex Fox, Synagro, and Jeremy Bowlin, Wayne Farms, were present during the entire inspection. A review of storage facilities, records, and land application field was completed. This review reflected compliance with the subject permit. SU-22 • Land application was not occurring at the time of inspection due to > 0.5" rain the day before. • The application area was clearly marked. • Application of residuals was even with no ponding. • Offloading from the tankers was occurring outside of the application area. Buckets were placed under both ends of the pipe. Staff observed no spillage around the spreader of the offloading area. Other observations: • The WWTP is a WW3 and discharges to the Fisher River. • Residuals are stored in two synthetically lined lagoons. The larger lagoon is--600,000 gallons and the smaller is --400,000 gallons. The lagoons have 6-8 months of storage capacity. • Lime stabilization is used per permit condition 11.16. Lime is mixed into the lagoons using a Hule pump. • Residuals were being land applied at a rate of 40lbs PAN/6200 gallons, with 2-3 tankers per acre. • Mr. Fox stated that he keeps electronic records form most things, but a hard copy of the permit and O&M plan are available during application events. • Samples are pulled from the lagoon that will be spread first in a calendar year and reported in the AR Mr. Fox stated that based on past sampling events the lagoons have comparable nutrient content. • A composite grab sample is collected using a sludge judge. • Nutrient and metals sampling was last completed 1/12/2023. • Nutrient and metals results and lime stabilization records were provided electronically.
