Subject: Response to Inspection Report
To Whom It May Concern:
On May 22, 2023, Jesse Barnes conducted an inspection with Chris Powell and Matt
Tuttle. In the inspection report, four items of concern were noted. I have discussed the
items with Mr. Powell and Mr. Tuttle and have responses for them all.
Item 1 concerned the lab numbers referenced on the monthly report. Previously, we only
listed the City's lab #, but we are now including Pace's # since they are conducting a
portion of our lab analysis.
Item 2 concerned the requirements of flow proportional sampling versus what we are
reporting for flow measurements. We have not figured out how to change our influent
sampling to flow proportional, but we have switched the effluent to flow proportional.
During this process, we had to add a totalizer to the effluent on SCADA for it to
communicate to the sampler. Since we can access this number daily, we have decided to
switch to reporting our effluent flow on our monthly report. This is more representative
of our total flow through the plant and eliminates human error for misreads or
miscalculations. This will be reflected in the June report.
Item 3 concerns the walkways to the clarifiers. One walkway has already been addressed
previously this year and material has been purchased for the other large clarifier. Once
the damaged section is replaced, it will repainted. This is in our next fiscal budget
beginning July 1st
Item 4 concerns the condition of the outfall. We cleared the outfall a couple of years ago
and made repairs to the pipe near the river. Crews did not make it back to the site last
year, but once the area dries out, they will mow the area from the police range to the
outfall and keep it on an annual schedule.
