1. SUBMIT DEBRIS HAULING ROUTE PLAN TO AN APPROVED LANDFILL FOR APPROVAL BY CONTRACTING
OFFICER.
2. PROVIDE PROTECTIVE FENCING AND BARRICADES WHERE NEEDED OR AS DIRECTED BY THE
CONTRACTING OFFICER.
3. PROVIDE EROSION CONTROL DEVICES AT LOCATIONS SHOWN ON THE DRAWING.
4. PERFORM DEMOLITION WORK AS INDICATED ON DRAWINGS AND LISTED IN SPECIFICATIONS.
5. PROVIDE NEW STORM DRAINAGE AND STRUCTURES AT LOCATIONS SHOWN ON DRAWINGS.

SEDIMENT AND EROSION CONTROL NOTES:
1. SEDIMENT AND EROSION CONTROL SHALL BE PLACED AS INDICATED ON THE
PLANS AND DIRECTED IN THE SPECIFICATIONS.
2. ALL CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH NCDENR AND NCDOT
STANDARDS AND SPECIFICATIONS.
3. TOTAL DISTURBED AREA= 5.63 AC
4. JUTE MAT ALL SLOPES 4:1 OR STEEPER, AS SHOWN AND AS NEEDED TO
STABILIZE.
5. CONTRACTOR SHALL INSTALL MEASURES AS NECESSARY DURING CONSTRUCTION

6. ALL TEMPORARY EARTHEN DIVERSION BERMS SHALL BE LINED WITH JUST MATTING.
TURF ESTABLISHMENT NOTES:
TURF ESTABLISHMENT PERIOD WILL COMMENCE ON THE DATE THAT
INSPECTION BY THE CONTRACTING OFFICER SHOWS THAT THE NEW TURF
FURNISHED UNDER THIS CONTRACT HAS BEEN SATISFACTORILY INSTALLED TO
A 95 PERCENT STAND OF COVERAGE. THE ESTABLISHMENT PERIOD SHALL
CONTINUE FOR A PERIOD OF 365 DAYS.
BEGIN MAINTENANCE IMMEDIATELY AFTER TURF HAS BEEN INSTALLED.
INSPECT TURF AREAS ONCE A WEEK DURING THE INSATLLATION AND
ESTABLISHMENT PERIOD AND PERFORM NEEDED MAINTENANCE PROMPTLY.
TURF SHALL BE MAINTAINED IN A MANNER THAT PROMOTES PROPER HEALTH,
GROWTH, RICH NATURAL GREEN COLOR, AND NEAT UNIFORM MANICURED
APPEARANCE, FREE OF BARE AREAS, RUTS, HOLES, WEEDS, PESTS, DEAD
VEGETATION DEBRIS, AND UNWANTED VEGETATION THAT PRESENTS AN
UNSIGHTLY APPEARANCE. MOW, REMOVE EXCESS CLIPPINGS, ERADICATE
WEEDS, WATER, FERTILIZE, OVERSEED, AND PERFORM OTHER OPERATIONS
NECESSARY TO PROMOTE TURF GROWTH.
TURF SHALL BE MOWED AT A UNIFORM FINISHED HEIGHT. MOW TURFED
AREAS TO AN AVERAGE HEIGHT OF 1 INCH WHEN AVERAGE HEIGHT OF
GRASS BECOMES 2 INCHES FOR SPRING/SUMMER MAINTENANCE AND TO AN
AVERAGE HEIGHT OF 1 INCH WHEN THE AVERAGE HEIGHT OF GRASS
REACHES 2 INCHES FOR FALL MAINTENANCE. THE HEIGHT OF TURF IS
MEASURED FROM THE SOIL. MOWING OF TURF SHALL BE PERFORMED IN A
MANNER THAT PREVENTS SCALPING, RUTTING, BRUISING, UNEVEN AND ROUGH
CUTTING. PRIOR TO MOWING, ALL RUBBISH, DEBRIS, TRASH, LEAVES,
ROCKS, PAPER, AND LIMBS OR BRANCHES ON A TURF AREA SHALL BE
PICKED UP AND DISPOSED. ADJACENT PAVED AREAS SHALL BE
SWEPT/VACUUMED CLEAN.

GENERAL NOTES
1. NOTES BELOW ARE NOT INTENDED TO REPLACE SPECIFICATIONS. SEE
SPECIFICATIONS FOR REQUIREMENTS IN ADDITION TO GENERAL NOTES.
2. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY ALL DIMENSIONS AND EXISTING CONDITIONS
AND NOTIFY THE CONTRACTING OFFICER OF ANY DISCREPANCIES OR
INTERFERENCE'S PRIOR TO COMMENCING WORK.
3. ALL EXISTING UTILITIES HAVE BEEN LOCATED FROM THE INFORMATION
AVAILABLE. THE LOCATION OF EXISTING UNDERGROUND UTILITIES INDICATED
BY PLAN AND PROFILE ARE APPROXIMATE. IT IS THE CONTRACTOR'S
RESPONSIBILITY TO ACCURATELY LOCATE BOTH HORIZONTALLY AND

COST TO REPAIR DAMAGED UTILITIES SHALL BE BORNE BY THE CONTRACTOR.
4. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL HAVE A COMPLETE SET OF CONTRACT DOCUMENTS
AS WELL AS ALL APPROVALS AND EASEMENTS ON THE JOB SITE AT ALL TIMES.
5. THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL LAYOUT WORK REQUIRED
TO PROPERLY CONSTRUCT THE WORK.
6. CONTRACTOR SHALL MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO SAVE MONUMENTS, OTHER
PERMANENT POINTS, LINES OF REFERENCE AND CONSTRUCTION STAKES.
MONUMENTS, AND OTHER PERMANENT POINTS OF REFERENCE DESTROYED BY
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE REPLACED BY A LICENSED LAND SURVEYOR AT
THE CONTRACTOR'S EXPENSE.
7. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR RELOCATION OF EXISTING
UTILITIES IF REQUIRED DURING INSTALLATION OF NEW WORK.
8. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL RESTORE THE DISTURBED AREA TO THE EXISTING
UNLESS SHOWN OTHERWISE ON THE DRAWINGS.
